Amherst Middle School held their third annual bald for bucks event in 2017. In their three years going bald for bucks they have raised an incredible $52,000 with dramatic improvements every year! In 2017 they were our third highest fundraising school coming in at an amazing $27,112.38.
Teacher coordinator Mr. David Mansfield goes above and beyond what is expected of him to plan the event. Mr. Mansfield goes bald in honor of his wife, who is a breast cancer survivor. This year they hosted a fundraiser at Friendly’s, had a 50/50 raffle and had a variety of baskets to raffle off to raise some extra money.
For the second year in a row their top fundraiser was Natalie Walter who has raised over $8,000 in her two years going bald. Natalie is a huge advocate for this program, and was first inspired to go bald for bucks when her father passed away from cancer.
Thank you, Amherst Middle for another incredible year!
