The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation (RPAF) takes your privacy seriously. We understand that you want to control your personal information, whether it concerns demographics or preferences. The RPAF is committed to the responsible management of information from website visitors (anyone who visits, registers or donates on our websites) and the RPAF abides by all rules, both ethical and legal, with respect to the use of website visitor information. We adhere to all established industry guidelines, and are continuously monitoring and enhancing how we manage the use and security of website visitor information.
What information does the RPAF collect and how does the RPAF use it?
When you register on our site for an event or make a donation, we require your name, email address, mailing address, day phone number and credit card information (if fees apply) and other required information for the purpose of running the event. This allows us to keep profiles on our website visitors so that we may customize preferences for visitors, as well as provide a faster method for visitors to submit information to the RPAF and receive information from the RPAF. This also allows us to solicit and collect donations on behalf of the RPAF.
When registering, we also may ask you, at your discretion, to submit additional information regarding yourself. This allows us to better know you and possibly tailor any specific features, promotions or other notifications to you.
The RPAF also gathers certain usage information such as the number and frequency of visitors to our site and its pages. Such information is only used by the RPAF in the aggregate in order to allow us to determine how much our customers use certain portions of the site so that we can improve the site.
If you would rather not receive information or promotional material from RPAF, or would like to opt-out of any other information request or distribution, simply reply to any the RPAF email sent to you and type UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject of your reply. In addition, in each email there will be a link that provides you the ability to unsubscribe from future emails.
In addition to providing the foregoing information to our supplier and merchants who help us process your order, if you choose to correspond further with us through email, the RPAF may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our response.
How does the RPAF protect website visitor information?
The RPAF implements a variety of security measures to ensure a safe and secure online experience. Personal information is contained within secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems. When you register or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive and personal payment cardholder information supplied by website visitors is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or other standard security encryption technology and then encrypted into our payment processor’s gateway to be processed for payment. The RPAF staff does not have access to this gateway.
Does the RPAF use “cookies?”
Does the RPAF disclose the information it collects from its website visitors to outside parties?
The RPAF does not sell, trade or otherwise transfer outside the company personally identifiable information that visitors voluntarily provide in any registration or donation submission. This information is used to support related transactions made on the site. However, this data in an aggregate form (without specific identifying information) may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses. The RPAF may also use email addresses and other personally identifiable information to contact visitors who communicate with us. For example, we email visitors who provide us with their email addresses for specific purposes such as receiving our email newsletters or being notified with event specific information or future event information, as well as additional RPAF initiatives that may be of interest to our website visitors. Each email newsletter always contains instructions on how to discontinue receipt of the newsletter. However, any visitor who wishes may, at any time, reply to any RPAF email sent to them and type UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject of their reply and no further mailings will be sent.
STATEMENT OF DONOR POLICY
Donor’s privacy is of utmost importance to us. For this reason, the RPAF will not sell or trade its donors’ personal or contact information with anyone else, nor will we send mailings or emails to you on behalf of other organizations.
THE RPAF’S SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS
The RPAF realizes that many children use the Internet, and encourages children to consult with their parents before submitting any information to any website, including the RPAF’s. However, the RPAF recognizes that it is ultimately the parents’ responsibility to supervise their children’s online activities. Parents may wish to use software to prevent children from disclosing their name, address and other personal information online without parental permission.
How does a website visitor opt-out, remove or modify information they have provided to the RPAF?
After gathering website visitor information, the RPAF offers these visitors the opportunity to remove their information from our database so as not to receive future communications or to no longer receive communications by opting out of our monthly newsletters. Each email newsletter always contains instructions on how to discontinue receipt of the newsletter. To provide increased value to our visitors, the RPAF may choose various third party websites to link to or from its own site.
However, even if the third party is affiliated with the RPAF, the RPAF has no control over these linked sites that each have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of the RPAF. The RPAF has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
